Special Site Features

This is a quick guide to the many special site features available to you, beginning with with the ability to increase the size of any picture in the above articles just by clicking on it. When you do, the picture opens in its own window with a new address. That is because this web page is actually a Blog, which means that each of the above messages is a separate WebLog or Post which has its own address and features.

Also, have you noticed that at the end of each article there is a picture of an envelope? This is for you to click on to send a link to that message to anyone with an email address. You can add a short personal note and the email will be sent through this website. The Subject will be the name of the blog (in this case: Boettchers in Alaska) followed by the title of the article being sent. For example, if Tim wanted to send the weblog "Want to partner with us?", the subject would be “Boettchers in Alaska: Want to partner with us?” and the recipient(s) would receive the following email with "Tim" in the "From" field:

When the link to your article is opened, they will see our website’s header and left sidebar, but the right side will show only the selected article. To see a preview before sending, just click on the text to the left of the envelope link which reads “Click to show above linked to own address”. Notice that when you do, the Address Bar displays the new address which you can copy and paste into your own email if you prefer to do it yourself. To return to the Home Page, click the Back button, or any link to the Home Page, or simply click on the blog name: "Boettchers in Alaska" in the heading at the top of the page.
